Development process

Our process from the initial consultation to after-sales management

1. Idea:

It all starts with an idea for a product or an enhancement of a current product. At this point we provide a non-binding consultation to discuss the feasibility, risks and cost traps that we could face.

2. Requirements:

In a meeting we would discuss all of the requirements for this product idea and write it down in a clear and detailed document of “requirement specification”.

3. Offer:

Using the available information, we would begin to study the case and we would the create a concept and a time estimation for the time that it would need to complete this project. This serves as the basis of what we need to make a fair offer.

4. Contract:

A contract is then drafted and signed and the developments is started.

5. Specification:

We as a team would then research the state-of-the-art methods and technologies as well as the technical standards that we would use to develop your product and make an internal “functional specification document” in which we would write how we would fulfill all of the points that we have specified in our requirement specification document.

6. Realization:

  1. This is where the development process starts in earnest. Simulations, Proof-of-concept designs, Algorithms etc. are developed. Hardware development and Software development are done in parallel for efficiency. This step is usually a very time-consuming part and we will be in clear communication with you during every step to make sure that everything is going smoothly and according to specifications.
  2. When the first initial design passes all the preliminary requirements and tests a prototype is then constructed and we move on to the next phase of development.

7. Test and Validation

  1. The prototype would look as close as possible to the final concept. The prototype is then tested to see if functionality is all according the required specifications. It is also at this point where all the pre-compliance tests are done to ensure that the product follows the industry standards and legal requirements early on in the development stage.
  2. During the stage of testing and validation, you will receive the first prototype of the project in order to do test in the operation environment. It is expected that in this phase there will be new findings which are gained and some minor changes would need to be done to the design.
  3. After the small bugs have been removed and the product is in a fully operational stage, this is when it can be delivered to field test partners so it can be thoroughly tested or at this stage it can be submitted to the certification partners (TÜV, UL, etc.)

8. Release:

  1. After through testing and approval, the project is then handed over to your project supervisor. You will also be presented with all the documentation for the work that went into the development of your product should need it in the future for further development of the product.
  2. Our relationship does not have to end at this point as we can also still support you with the product through its lifecycle during which firmware/software updates can be made, additional function can be added as well as technical support and repair.
